got me thinking - there is the scene where serufu's bike gets broken, and the DIY club leader comes by and is able to fix it on the spot. but on the other hand, what if that automated bus broke down? that would almost certainly be a "yield" situation.
hello, just wanted to say that everything you post is a joy to read! we seem to have similar viewpoints and concerns, and coincidentally doremi was definitely one of my formative works... i'm impatient to read your full impressions on it!
ah yeah the doremi page is one of the oldest... i planned to start the next section by discussing what makes doremi stand out among other mahou shoujo, and then the whole thing fell by the wayside when i got bogged down in research on the theory of genre. i might be coming back to it soon though since i recently stumbled upon the term "sui generis" that it felt like i was searching for...
!! it really seems like it would describe doremi well, it's really a peculiar work, full of soul, if i may, and that looks like it has been created just for the sake of making it... or no matter the story of its genesis, it feels organic!
