*github page as an iframe, i can confirm it triggers the 'doesn't allow external scripts' issue :(
hmmm ok thank you! i guess i'll try to make a widget for it then, like i did with status.cafe and last.fm :)

it used to work, but neocities updated to a stricter content security policy a year or so ago - it broke the WiiRing too, and I had to make an iframe version of it! here's more about it: https://dabric.xyz/post/neocities-csp/
@jeith thank you for the info! i'm still a bit confused because i have a 2nd (free) account to try these things out and it works for me over there.

hmm i know it only affects free accounts made after January 2024 (when the CSP was changed), so it could be when the account was made? otherwise it may be totally unrelated :P
@jeith yeah my 2nd account was created mid 2024 so it SHOULD be affected. maybe a bug. time to create a 3rd account for testing haha
I added new styling options for my widgets! (https://petrapixel.neocities.org/coding/widgets) Basically, all valid CSS is possible now! Make sure to clear cache for MY website if something's not working for you!

ooo that sounds nice, but I have an idea, what about supporting the postMessage API so people can define the CSS using a little JavaScript code, it should work in free Neocities sites, and the URL wouldn't be long on complex styles. Just my 2 cents though.
@jbcarreon123 i haven't heard of the postMessage API before but it sounds cool, i'll look into it, thanks for the suggestion! :))
new page: my online childhood! https://petrapixel.neocities.org/about/my-online-childhood just really nostalgic stuff :) (also this page took so much longer than it looks!!)

Oh, wow! Dragon Cave! I just started playing about 2 weeks ago (I found out about it from another Neocities site!) I'm currently collecting an army of Pink dragons and trading for random prize dragons!
Added a new silly quiz to https://petrapixel.neocities.org/fun/quizzes but other than that just small changes

more quizzes!! i tried the hobby one, its funny to get journaling when i actually DO that. real for physical journals being more aesthetic… you’re powerful for digital ones, i struggled to keep a digital journal for myself

wao these are all really good ones ... i'm biased to page optimization though since it feels (at least to me) that there's definitely ... a lack of them, or they feel too 'word techy'. even just img optimization would be really cool esp considering how images play a lot into decorations

i agree with @zhongvie! page optimization would be useful both for ppl who are just starting out and for seasoned webmasters too

These are really good, but I really wanna see a resource about page optimization. I feel like the indie web needs more optimization on site assets, lazy loading assets, or just probably converting images to a more efficient format like webp
Love the site! Your page helped me create mine.
