all of my self-hosted stuff is now running on Caddy! should be identical to my Nginx config, except now I won't have to worry about the certificates renewing properly...

as if I wasn't indecisive enough, I'm now considering using Caddy instead of Nginx... I've gotten Nginx to behave itself, but Caddy seems much nicer to maintain, and built-in TLS certificate support is going to be INCREDIBLY helpful and nice to have
alignment of the gradient in the logo text was bugging the SHIT out of me, finally fixed it
bit of an oversight: I forgot Neocities did the whole clean URLs thing, and that wasn't implemented in my Nginx config. I added "try_files $uri $uri.htm $uri.html" to the server's root location block, so if you find a link cleaned by Neocities, it'll correct itself to have the page's extension

I don't really care about clean URLs, I just needed to do something so clean links correct themselves lol
made the worst mistake of my time running this website: my best friend has a button I didn't put on the buttons page... that's fixed now!

think I'll be doing the migration of msx.gay from Neocities to my VPS today, and setting up Neocities as a mirror at neo.msx.gay. my site may go down in a bit, but it will be back...

the migration should be complete!! if you see Neocities' default 404 when accessing msx.gay, your DNS is probably just being slow to pick up on the change

doing some prep work for the upcoming server migration, subdomains for msx.gay may break but the site itself should not

all done! new wildcard DNS record and matching TLS certificate are set up!
going to do some reading into this when I have downtime tomorrow, probably put together the caddyfile I'll need for my sites
