I think analysing the structure of books you like (both high fantasy and from other genres) would be a good idea as well

I started typing a reply the other day introducing u to a buncha shit then realized I can't speak on these things with authority as I always just write down whatever vignettes in the world haunt my mind and make up ways to stitch them together till its over.
