ive got my dear friend peter on the case (the case being i cant get the freaking website update i want to do to work). also sidenote anyone here know anything about imac g3s? i may have (accidentally) deleted its entire OS while trying to downgrade it to macos9 from 10

have you tried reinstalling the OS in Mac OS recovery? Should have still been a feature back then. Here's an up to date article on how to do it, but if it doesn't work you may need to look at the specific OS it was running to see if you can reinstall without the OS disc. If you still can't reinstall it, you may need the OS disc to reinstall, which is usually pretty easy to find online. Next comment has article link:
