question, what's the difference between a neighbor and an affiliate? i've been seeing a lot of ppl add affiliate sections on their links pages separate of their neighbors. is it like collaborators or something else?
neighbors are just websites you've stumbled upon and link to without asking. affiliates both agree to link to one another in a public partnership. and in the past, would trade or give each other gifts for their websites (e.g. images, adoptables, pixel art).
ooh thats a neat way xandra put it!!! yea it definitely feels more like a uh ... explicit link sharing where both sides did talk/agree to it (in tumblr roleplay communities its used as 'im intertwined with this blog for xyz reasons (lore/etc/friends)' which i guess kinda vibes in 'we have a mutual partnership over something we both are very deep into'
