In terms of anime... Widely-loved anime darlings that everyone loves but I think are terrible = Attack on Titan, Welcome to the NHK, Belle (movie). Anime everyone universally hates but that I love with every fiber of my being = Aku no Hana.

What, if anything, are your Neocities "views" based on? It feels like an arbitrary number, it doesn't at all match up with the counter placed on the homepage.

i'm very curious if hotlinked images count as a "view" because there's no way i have 175k visitors to my site. it's gotta be from hotlinked art i've posted elsewhere getting loaded on someone's browser and counting as a view.

Definitely web crawlers are a part of it, but I didn't even consider hotlinked things potentially counting toward views - it would explain some of these crazy high numbers.
Merry Christmas, or whatever end-of-year kind of celebrations you do! It's stinking hot so I'm gonna throw myself into the ocean, my favorite place.

Need to edit page to add a NSFW warning to my Pillowfort link, sorry if I accidentally blasted anyone's eyeballs with NSFW art. PF bills itself as having strong NSFW controls (you can 100% switch off all adult content with a setting, it is set to this by default) but I just learned that this only applies to people with accounts. If you look at a PF page without being logged in/without an account, you see EVERYTHING.

I would prefer it if you could only see 18+ stuff if you are logged in and have enabled the setting so that it's opt-in. But I understand why they didn't design it that way even if I don't like it.

Medium-active. Twitter's acquisition by Musk saw a bunch of people flood back to the site + new sign-ups, and they got something like 170% funding last month which is more than I've ever seen. But it's still small and slow-moving, it's no Tumblr.

Glad to see somebody who doesn't hate the Aku no Hana anime.
I always liked the original Japanese title for Belle better - Ryu to Sobakasu no Hime/The Dragon and the Freckled Princess
I thought the rotoscoping was a bold choice, and the slight ugliness really sells the oppressive atmosphere! The OST is incredible. Totally agree with tojisworld also, even if my issues with Belle run deep it's still a more fitting title.
