actually i just checked; photoshop 2023 can open webps directly. my old-ass csp cannot but i looked it up and i think the newest version can too. krita above 5.1 can also
I AGREE! despite the fact i cant edit them on my art software of choice, it still generously saved me at least half of my neocities storage as of now… the compression is great. the images look great. asking for more would make me feel greedy…
@falsedawn wait …… i checked just now and you’re right (shock) ive been consistently updating to the latest version using the yearly pass since november and i never actually paid attention to it TT disregard my last message, i literally have nothing to bother webp for 🤔

like, its made optimized for the web, saves energy, supports both lossless and lossy, supports animation, what more can you ask for?
People would hate it much less if you didn't need something other than the normal windows pto see them webp images...

thats just bc its still relatively new (and being optimized for web). but support is spreading and its not hard to convert them
