I think If the lecturer is fair they'll grade your yearning for understanding as a good philosophical pursuit. What if memories of sensations, and memories of properties of exterior and sensible objects is proof that there is more than body but there has to be a disembodied something (mind) that carries those memories? I remember feeling the warmth of my laptop, even if the laptop isn't there; where is this memory?
The memory or the capacity of retention, it is a faculty of our being to remember and being able to anticipate by both sensations and intellectual knowledge. It's also called passive intellect, we are able to know what we collected as a set of recollections we perceived from objective reality to our intengible mind. In modern philosophy, the memory is a substrate of a substance.
The mind is capable of reflexivity and to build representations (which are derivates of reality) of sensations, as the warmth of your computer you can eventually feel, but the mind can not suscite this sensation, you have to experience it before.

Not in the body, because the body isn't feeling the (non-existent) warmth. But then where?...
