I’ve written previously that Creative Inspiration is the most fruitful force in the universe. We need to keep it that way - https://johnoestmannmusic.com/on-ai-music/

Alright, I've done a significant overhaul of the site, including the fact you now explore by controlling a Racer through space and across planets. As previously mentioned, I am now using GenAI to assist in the programming. You can read my explanation, download my editor, or view the PRE_AI version of the site through https://jomusic.neocities.org/aadd.md

Very nice! I have to use AI at work for coding, and can see some of the appeal but I keep it out of my personal life and website - but no diss to you for using it in programming (although I've seen that it can be pretty optimized or bloated , but you probably have a way to handle that). One thing, if I may suggest/report is that the music from one planet to another does not stop the previous from playing

Cheers for the feedback, I'll look into it for future update :) Re: AI - yeah I've been pretty skeptical of it up until recently. But I've seen how it enables very fast prototyping and adapting software for local use cases (which I think can empower people it previously didn't). Obviously a very complex topic, but you can read more of my thoughts around it here: https://johnoestmannmusic.com/ai-building-exoskeletons

I think the scales of AI negatives-positives have tipped for me, now *leaning* Pro. A few reasons why: - Open models now frontier-level (de-centralized, given back to the people the data was taken from) - Enabling local-adapted tool prototyping - Reported innovations in datacentre water-recycling

Note: I have not yet used GenAI in building my site. If I do, I'll make a back up of the non-AI version first, still linked and accessible. I'll also put a note on the site mentioning the date I started using it.

So I've seen a couple posts that suggest there are people using AI to rip off other's Neocities pages. I suppose it was going to happen eventually. You don't even need AI to do it. Though if this does happen to you, I want you to remember this: keep creating. Don't let the shittiness of others stop you from creating. The best thing we can do to rebel against the darkness of the world is this: keep on creating.

Lol credit for that goes to AZALI, who holds the title for the most peak composer of all time (Mozart would cry)

I have checked out AZALI and I see what you mean!

I've playing with some auto-panning when your mouse reaches the edge of the screen (with a delay after doing the regular grab-panning). I would love to hear if you find this helpful, or a hindrance!
