Ironic--I hit my comment limit for the day right in the middle of that post. I even signed up for premium, not realizing it wouldn't change that. Aah ok where was I.
"I thought that was in my head" -- working on multiple levels. Really like how the genre scope and voice keep expanding. LOVE the horror of ch. 8.
Ah thank you! I haven't actually played fallout but I've seen footage of the terminals and can definitely see what you mean
Re: LLMs, I too argue your voice is not robot-like. I agree with j0ner; your prose moves with unmistakable soul. Employing one's own high lit style outside of a Simon & Schuster publication is no grounds for suspicion.
thank you v much!! Smaller Things is not yet done, so if you read fast you'll run out of chapters soon, but I am still actively writing it, and hope to be finished it relatively soon!! I have the rest of the plot worked out, it's just emotionally taxing to write, lol
That's super rad. If there's anything else on your site you'd like reader feedback on, do let me know.
This (ST) is wonderful, so rollicking and depressing. I just shared the synopsis so far with my roommate and we were about crying laughing.
I welcome feedback on everything tbh! There's a lot of writing on my site, so if anything looks interesting, I'd love to hear what you think about it!
I plan on it!! I've read most of it, and have really enjoyed it so far!! I will give my full feedback once I've finished!!
Fantastic. It'll be completing serialization at 350-450k words on 2032.01.01, assuming I haven't been hit by an asteroid. I usually put out chapters every 1-2 weeks.
LIKE I LITERALLY DID THE "NOT JUST ___ BUT ___" THING, I DIDN'T EVEN MEAN TO
I read the Wikipedia like "how to spot AI writing" and now I am fighting the urge to look through everything I have ever wrote in my entire life to see if I write like a damn robot
like a big one: I tend to summarize the content of my writing in the conclusion it at the end of sections cause that's how I was taught to do it in undergrad. I also connect sections with like, connecting sentences/ideas, cause I was also taught to do that in undergrad
now I am second guessing everything, and am genuinely paranoid that I'm gonna be accused of having AI write my shit, and I'll have no means to prove my innocence
I struggle with the fear as well however what sets us apart of LLMs is that our writing doesn't feel uncanny. when I read something of yours, I know you have made it and do not suspect AI in anyway. You might have more proper grammar than most but that doesn't make you any less of a writer. If anything you are proving that us humans can still be formal in our writing :P
New paper: FOSS, Fire Fighters, and Big Breasted Skyrim mods: The Unmotivating Profit
You *must* read it. I love MICHAEL and T.E. with my whole heart.
