W3Schools have made a free static web hosting service called W3Spaces. Had a quick look. It seems good exceeeept that it nags you every split second to buy a paid plan, no stats at all without paying, and your visitors get a "warning! user generated content! continue?" page. So Neocities is still the best. And I look forward to returning the front-end of my site and projects here. 😁
