i finally downloaded linux mint after putting it off for ages (absolutely no linux experience btw) now i just gotta figure out how to integrate it seamlessly with everything, apple is not making this easy AT ALL because they're so gatekeepy about how you access your data from an external OS
apple is gatekeepy in general. i have a newer macbook with a T2 security chip and it took me forever to find out that's the reason why my original linux mint download wasn't functioning. thankfully there's a version called T2 linux and it was very easy to set up, but even still my trackpad is having some problems
i made the switch a couple months ago and have been loving it. It can take a couple days of getting used to and set up but its insane how much nicer it runs. my only advice is to not be afraid of the command line, you never *have* to use it but knowing "sudo apt install" makes u lowkey feel like a god
