After only writing original works for the past 5 years, finally wrote and published some fanfic again. It's such a night-and-day difference it's absurd.
Original works: occassional passer-by will skim, but realistically it's only your friends that'll read you. Fanfiction: Hundreds (literally) of people kudos, comment and bookmark your work in under a week and some will even start writing you fanmail on Tumblr.
