going to the dark side and will probably start to use github pages with github pro. ive considered neocities supporter, but i dont wanna pay a monthy subscription for weird edge cases like the download button disappearing or files starting with a dot disappearing. a lot of disappearing i dont like it

i kinda miss twitter. while i mostly lurked, i liked the people i followed. i actually felt energized and inspired after using it. but then elon came along and threw the whole vibe off. like yeah theres neocities etc, but it feels too energetic for my liking. hell, i even have websites muted by default to entirely prevent autoplay.

wrt the shadow ban thing you can tell if you try to comment on someone's page (that isnt following you) and you cant.

slightly hot take: when it comes to site buttons, hotlinking > not hotlinking. the site owner can update the button, bandwidth feels negligible for a 5kb button (at least in my case), and a broken image feels fine as its likely just gonna be a dead link anyway.

another accessibility thing that for some reason bugs me the most: PLEASE dont use jusitified text. at times it makes those really awkward to read lines where the spacing between words is excessively long

never used github but I (personally) think most people should probably just move their site host rather than be a supporter on nc if they're looking for more benefits.

github pages has a 1gb limit :| so maybe not...
tried looking into glitch and they tempoarily disabled the feature since march of this year...well there goes the two hosts i knew off the top of my head. time to do so digging or just give up
