got a surface laptop gen 1 and put ubuntu 24.04 on it, and then tried fucking around with the surface kernel, and it ended up not being worth it for me personally.

If you use firefox, make sure to update to the newest version, as a vulnerability was found that allows for remote code execution!!!

Since its become relevant considering the recent blog post from Kyle: I have no intentions of leaving neocities. I don't care if Kyle disagrees with me on a topic as nuanced as AI and AI research. I had a bug where every so often the touchscreen and the keyboard drivers would get all screwy, and I wouldn't be able to login to the desktop unless I restarted to potentiallty fix the problem
I tried reinstalling the kernel and fucking around in grub, but after doing that and changing some stuff around, the problem persisted, so I just ditched it and went with the generic linux kernel. I don't super need the touch screen anyway, just thought it may be fun
