I've been wanting to hop on King's Field since I played Lunacid at the start of the year... There is something about medieval first-person games that started to peak interest in me. Do you recommend play some of the older titles first?
I decided to start with IV myself. It's a common recommendation for people looking to ease themselves into the series. It's story isn't connected to the others, and the graphics are obviously more modern with it being on the PS2. From what I've read, the one downside with IV is that the movement speed is, suprisingly, a bit slower than the PS1 titles. Just remember, X is a run button.
Small blog about finishing King's Field IV.
