if your website was truly actually only for you then you wouldn't be putting it in a public place. like specifically on a website where people can find other indie websites. like neocities. for example.

I just coded mine with html and css from scratch lmao, it's pretty rudimentary and everything is done manually but that's what I'm used to

i use Jekyll for mine. it was fairly easy to learn. eventually when i manage to go self-hosted i'll probably whip up something using PHP

i got a custom system with sveltekit going. you just make an api for your blog posts, and sveltekit will crawl hyperlinks and render your site on build

[replys WHEN ;o; ] i agree and i feel similar about "my website is just for me/PERSONAL web". like i do believe my website is for *me* and i wouldnt have made it if i didnt enjoy it or didnt want to so on the surface level i dont really disagree with it, but at the same time if my website was made 100% ONLY for me to look at, i wouldve left it offline and i wouldnt have added a guestbook or

exactly! the moment you put your website online especially in a place where people can find it, your site is no longer just for you. and even if you argue that like, well not every place is gonna be accessible for everyone, again true, but now everyone decides their site is just not gonna be accessible even in cases where it's perfectly viable and reasonable.
