I just stumbled across your post about stationery, enticed by the photograph of the Platinum Preppy pen. I recently invested in a Kaweco Brass Sport fountain pen and I've been in love with it; I found and picked it whilst searching for a 'buy it for life' pen to align with my minimalist views. I mention these specifically because, although it's easy to fall into overconsumption with stationery, both of these products (although they require a significant financial investment at first) are designed to get better with time and be used for life. They're designed to discourage overconsumption, even down to the fact that wear and tear (the patina) is seen as a feature, not a defect.
