thinking of possibly maybe perhaps making a site directory/search engine/webring. ive seen many similar sites supposedly "open to anyone"... except anyone who doesn't own a 90's-themed personal site. ill use a submission system so i can use real-life humans as my web-crawlers!
further criticizing those "open to anyone" sites: i hate how most of them either 1. force you to request through email (just to most likely not get a response) or 2. use some stupid and slow ticketing system. pisses me off!!!! >:(
a search engine would feel too impersonal, I like the idea of manually finding the sites I want based on a real human's classification of its category, as opposed to allowing some AI to spot keywords and spit out a bunch of links to things I don't want
a webring would provide too little seperation between the topics of the sites included, since it's just grouping them all into one pile labeled "WEBSITES"
