explore a life cycle in some kind of writing. for example, you could use metamorphosis, diapause/hibernation, paedogenesis [very weird], puberty, the salmon life cycle, the amphibian life cycle, or something else entirely! you don't have to be direct-- just start here and get inspired.

After re-reading it, I figured ghazl sounds better in Arabic due to the motion of its vowels and lack thereof, but English may still have a chance if the rhyme scheme was just right.

i definitely relate to the questions this poem asks in the face of seasonal change and wanting to imitate it and at least get some ounce of that guarantee for regrowth after cold devastation
I really liked this piece! The questions posed to the trees are so earnestly simple, so concisely phrased. And I love the sounds of "only whispers what the wind will allow" as well as the idea. Really cool.
