my cheap crappy old laptop addiction reared its ugly head again and I bought an Asus Travelmate from 2019 for like 35 bucks. Thing showed up without any storage. I guess they expect me to play pretend that it has Windows 11 Pro installed lol

advertised as having an eMMC but it only takes SATA drives. didn't even have a ribbon cable behind the hard drive door!
I asked them to send a low capacity sad and compatible cable to make right. I have a spare drive and can get the cable but it's the principle of the thing
(lowkey, it's kinda better that it doesn't have an eMMC slowly rotting away. a newer drive will be way better.
