I cosplayed for the first time in my life. I'm currently trying to amp myself up to head into the theater because self consciousness hit like a truck. "F*** it, we ball" changed up to "afraid of being percieved" pretty quickly!
i told a friend I'm feeling afraid of being percieved as cringe and dorky. they replied that this is an *anime movie premiere* and everyone there is cringey and dorky
I make a point to never wear anything that'd out me as geeky because Internalized rural social expectations. So this feels like a massive leap. I'm also the only person in this theater 30 mins before it starts
Went fine! Audience was mostly a handful of teens and some VERY confused family members. And one group of guys. One is a fan and dragged The Boys to come see it. They were snickering early but fully locked in lmao

also trying to get it in my head that this is a dress rehearsal for this year's local anime convention
