What do y'all even do when you get a hate comment? because I know the mature thing is obviously to delete it but idk I think it's kinda funny to just leave it there as a reminder of how some people online are so miserable that they only get joy from being assholes to strangers

@joroki Saxophones are the absolute best musical instruments ever made, they're fun and powerful as hell! I was originally going to write "jazz" but honestly I will listen to anything as long as it has a good saxophone (now that you mention it I'm really curious, what saxophony music have you noticed we have a shared interest on?)

@strawberry-transneu Thank you! :D it was just some transphobic bullshit and assuming things about my life which is the #1 lowest hanging fruit in terms of insults so it's kind of whatever but I've always been very "secretive" online (never publish and rarely comments) so in my 17 years of being alive its actually my first time getting attacked by these losers so I don't even know what you are supposed to do
Lowkey I keep hate comments because they're so silly. I find it funny that you can just be living your life as usual and someone is seething for no reason. Someone was leaving nasty comments on my fanfic on AO3 once and I really just had to laugh and reply with "nuh uh :P "

I just think it's really funny how people willingly choose to spend so much time writing hate comments the size of essays like, why are you spending so much time and energy on something you hate so much? and then acting like some low effort insults are genuinely going to do something, if anything it's just sad that some people have nothing but negativity to talk about
if it makes you sad in any way then definitely delete it. I told myself I didn't mind but then actually when I deleted the comment it brought me so much relief I was like oh, why didn't I do that sooner??
