just for fun, maybe it's time to inaugurate the cidoku.net awards and send badges like "reddest site" to personal sites I like (maybe they'll even accept them and put them on display). What do you say? Would YOU be willing to accept such an award?

@cidoku i'll record it on my Blackberry and then show you the results tonight, i should be able to get my Wii on. My biggest concern is if i have a Wii remote and if so, if i have double-A batteries. But otherwise this'll be easy to get working since i have a spare TV, so tonight i shall test then share to you. Likely just directly uploading the video onto my website then sharing to you, it will be 240p AV1 WEBM.

Congratulations on your purchase! I'm very fond of typewriters, mauger that I'm all thumbs with them. If you're going to use it regularly, you may want to seek out a local or regional party who can service it for that eventuality of repair.

Congrats on the typewritter! I still keep and use the one my grandpa had, aside from sturdy they're superfun to write in. Their only downside is that ink tape is a bit hard to come by nowadays ;w; (at least over here)

Thank you both! I'm really happy with the purchase, and I plan to use it a lot. drawcia, funnily enough, they're super easy to get for cheap on aliexpress. you can get three tapes for like 15 bucks. I know it's not ideal, but there's availability

I have an internet friend who spent some time in Ushuaia recently. Seems like a lovely part of the world… and if nuclear war breaks out you’re pretty well insulated from it, which is a bonus. ;)

I've only seen the Southern Cone in photos and videos. As much as I admire its largely unspoilt beauty, I wouldn't care to live there. Its appeal is perfectly fathomable..

"Conformity to W3C versions and specs thereof are a waste of time after '97" My primary concern is extensive backwards compatibility, not standards. If those elements had been in HTML 4 it's (barely) more likely that my target browsers would support them. Since they don't, I can't use them.

Are your specific criteria for inclusion and retention of elements and attributes thereof based primarily on compatibility with the browsers listed on your page?

Yes. Basically, I target IE4 and Netscape 4 as a conscious design choice and constraint. Standards never mattered as much as "what browsers can actually do". This was true during the browser wars, it was true during the IE6 dark ages, and it's true now (the html living standard = what chrome does)

What's up with the post limit?
I encountered the limit myself the other day. You're only allowed to post 10 updates/comments per day. Try it, it's an undocumented feature or it's being tested
It's cool there's a update limit now (people just micro-blogged on it), but applying a limit on comments as well sucks a bit ;o; They're a nice way to reply quick stuff on people's site updates, I find guestbooks a bit clunky/disorganized and only use them when wanting to say something long.
