In particular, your wish for a comfortably simple life, your sentiments regarding greatness, and the apparent contradiction between the two. Ok i guess it wasn't 40 pages (or maybe I trimmed it down). I wear scarves utilitarianly to keep warm, still thinking about this one beautiful scarf i found in a second hand store that I did not buy. It has been over five years. Everything is performative anyway, just wear it.

I love scarves & was going to buy this striped scarf yesterday at the thrift store, but the woman in front of me in line was buying a giant pile ( more than $100 ) of clothes & was taking forever. I had to leave to catch the bus before she finished. Even dreamt about the scarf last night, but oh well.

Thank you so much! I will have updates on all this soon (hopefully good ones). It's touching but also sad how many people have mentioned that post being particularly relatable. I hope it's not too pessimistic; obviously software isn't for me but I do hope that great people will continue to push the field forward!
