curious if anyone knows of a good alternative to google docs / microsoft word that can use custom fonts? I've tried Libre Office repeatedly but it refuses to open on my laptop???

kinda annoying workaround BUT you can use the custom font in whatever art program and make an image of the text, then paste it into docs/word

I'm ride or die for Scrivener. It's got a bit of a learning curve but the free trial is extremely generous (it resets if you un/reinstall) and the full version is only like us$30 or something

ELLIPSUS!!! I love it sm. It's one of the companies that dropped out of sponsoring NaNoWriMo when they made a pro-AI statement, because they're vehemently anti-AI. It has all of the best features of Google Docs, a chat, the ability to merge documents, a "reading time" calculator, and it's multi-platform! It was created by writers, for writers, too.

The only downside is that, if you want someone else to edit your work, they will also need an account, but it's not like that's an issue unique to Ellipsus (Google Docs does that too). And you can also send a link to your work to someone without an account! They just won't be able to edit it directly.

Went to an anime convention this past weekend! It was my first con and first cosplay contest and first win (of the novice division)! Will write about it after I finish collecting pictures (official pics take awhile to be released)
