a gambling website called gamelaunch.goldwin.com is spoofing every neocities site?? like im pretty sure it's every single site hosted on neocities. mine is there and yours is probably there too. if anyone knows how to report this let me know because i genuinely have no idea what this is

thankfully all robots.txt files on these subdomains don't allow ANY bots, so i guess people's art and stuff isn't being scraped by AI at the very least... that was my biggest concern.

ok reddit gave me an answer to what's going on. it's an open web proxy you can go to any site through this domain. still no idea why they did this but now we know it isnt just us

yeah, i'm going to email neocities about this. apparently you can configure it so that a website is only accessible via certain addresses. please see this example i found here: https://disboard_org.gamelaunch.goldwin.com/ notice it uses cloudflare. this is something configurable using cloudflare but we cannot adjust this ourselves through neocities.

frutiger aero wasnt nearly as popular in the 2000s as people think.......most things people call 'frutiger aero' are just basic skeuomorphic design. just because something is a glossy gradient doesnt make it frutiger aero!!

literally the only things i remember from my childhood that would be considered frutiger aero today is the blue liquid and swimming fish in various items (mouse for pcs, and bathroom stuff), and the fish tank lamps. can't name any other things, i remember the 2000's to be more mcbling "trashy" stuff (as someone born in 1997)
