I'm so sad to hear pooftie's middlepot.com is closing down, but it sounds like pooftie's doing it for all the right reasons. The reasons resonate deeply with me, the internet was much more fun when I had a more limited access to it and even when I had a lot of access, but before the age of social media. The constant connectedness and being available on-demand to everybody at all waking hours is a nightmare!

It's a very beautiful site with a soothing and calming atmosphere! I wish it could be kept up archived, but...

I just saw her post. Very sad! Hopefully it will be majority archived on the Internet Archive

Unfortunately, her website seems to be exempt! I tried to archive and it said her domain is exempt... seems like it didn't allow archiving somehow.

Note to self (since I tend to forget what I want to add later...): A Little Snow Fairy Sugar to the Anime Recommendations and some more outfits to the Shoujo Wardrobe.

Your website is lovely! It's not hard on the eyes at all. It's lovely and all the gifs are slow-moving and don't cause eye strain. The only one that sort of flickers has a slow frame rate so wouldn't cause seizures. ^^ You can google what to look out for for photosensitive epilepsy, but your website is just fine, don't worry!

Ah, I'm so glad to hear that! I put the warning partially because I like flashy gifs and bright colours, but it's good to know that so far nothing causes issues :)

https://kidpix.app/ Psst, I'm about to include a link of this on my website, but I want everyone to know the original Kid Pix has become part of the public domain! Here's a Javascript version to play in browser. ^^ (Flashing lights and high contrast patterns, but they're also very slow-moving, so probably won't trigger seizures if you keep the brightness down.)

Oh, correction: the original 1989 Kid Pix was always public domain and intended to be, given Hickman made it because he saw his then-3-year-old son struggling with MacPaint, so he wanted to make a free art software that's easy for kids to use. ;3; His friends encouraged him to sell it, Broderbund picked it up, and 1990 onwards, those versions of Kid Pix are copyrighted!
