my site's been feeling kinda unwieldy/bulky/overstuffed to me lately so I may be removing some things and making some big changes soon. Mostly to limit the use of JavaScript + I might switch some pages into more list-based formats instead of grids of images. I want to save that valuable image space for the pages I'll be putting in my curio cabinet, after all :)
Hi, if you mean saving storage, converting images to .avif does wonders. You can also reduce image resolution if they don't need to be that high. By resizing my screenshots and converting to avif, I cut 2/3 of storage usage.
I did something similar recently and I'm pretty satisfied with the results. My site still has some heavy images, but even with more pages than before I reduced its storage usage back to 1.7mb.
also I think I may get rid of my journal page(s) entirely, I don't think I have the temperament of a blogger lol.

@pirahxcx that is really great advice, thank you! I didn't realize converting to .avif could make such a difference :)
