NotSSG 1.1.1 is working and almost ready to publish. I'm currently thoroughly testing it on the file system, a local web server and on my own website. The new version guarantees fresh content on refresh, while otherwise ensuring fresh content every 15 mins of the hour (for your visitors). I also added a debugging thingeh (activate on my site with the ` key) and better organised the code, and some other stuff.

UGH!!! Most users won't be affected at all, but I've discovered a slight edge case with HTML cache busting. Apparently Chromium browsers treat directory URLs as a "sPeCiAl CasE" and Ctrl+F5 sometimes STILL uses the cached version of your page there. So now I can't concentrate on my next project and have returned to NotSSG to fix this. Once done, my next blog entry will be titled '"Fun" with HTML Cache Busting' π

Slight tweak. I've learned you can link directly to a page where players can rate the game. So the "Rate" link goes to that now. βββββ (not a hint π)

Wohooooo I got MonoGame (desktop build) and KNI (HTML5 export) working today. Which means I can recreate my Plant app with one code base, a better UI, better input and provide a desktop version for those that want a permanent version that doesn't require an internet connection. π π±

Whew! NotSSG 1.1 is wrapped and ready for release. Gonna just give it a few days in case I think of anything, but the plan is to release 1.1 this Sunday (12th).

Q'PLAAAAAAAAAA I got it working. It finally freaking works. The HTML file cache busting is finally solved. NotSSG 1.1 is now officially actually happening, and NotSSG powered sites (including mine) will never have to worry about stale pages, sheets or scripts ever, ever again! :D

If anyone's interested, HTML file cache busting using a URL parameter works... provided you use Neocities clean, canonical URL. So β about?cachebust=xxx, but, β about.html?cachebust=xxx often serves stale content. I'll possibly be providing NotSSG's cache busting as a separate, independent non-NotSSG script also for those that might want it, and doing a blog entry on how the cache busting works at some point.

The debugging thingeh is just for me while developing, but I thought some people might find it interesting to see what NotSSG is doing under the hood lol.
