There are more options than Adobe and photoshop nowaways. Do you mainly use it for photo editing or something else? Alternative and open source software have come a long way. For example, Krita is great for digital painting, Inkscape is good for vector graphics, GIMP isn't too bad for photo editing... I've found a lot of alternatives for things I thought I had to do in Adobe.

@pixelglade i use photoshop mostly for """work""" stuff, like making some basic insta posts for a company. tbh the only reason i haven't ditched it yet is pure habit, i've been using it for years and i'm just used to it. but after almost blowing up my pc, i've been thinking about switching to something safer (and easier to download too) 😭 i'll check out your suggestions, thanksss

there’s photopea as well which is basically ‘photoshop but completely online’ but the issue is more the online part, but it is completely free and the often touted alternative if you want a 1:1 photoshop. if i could id offer you my cracked version of photoshop but idr personally where i got mine from 😭

Canva could be suitable for instagram post creation, especially if you purchase the pro subscription. Which like, ew, hate that, but it serves me well. Also if it means anything, your site immediately stuck out to me and I visit rather frequently!

@pixelglade affinity photo does sound good, i'll check it out! @zhongvie i think i've heard of photopea a few times but never actually used it, i've always been kinda against online tools lol, but it might be useful so i'll give it a try.

i made the whole site responsive for mobile and tablet, created a new must-read page on the ash lynx shrine, updated the diary and media log pages and added a new article
Yess we love a mobile responsive site, also your site 88x32 buttons are cute, appreciate the static options

nope, a lot of ppl i know who make ocs don’t do drawing and either rely on picrew to design something visual or use other references (pinterest boards, or using existing media characters as bouncing points—one of my OCs was inspired off accelerator from a certain magical index)

@zhongvie you're right, i thought drawing was the only way to "bring a character to life", but there are so many other ways to do it, thank u!!
You can always write an OC like writers do, like making a list of their personal attributes. As zhongvie said making a mood board for colour schemes, etc, can be helpful to visualise them too.
