dumb question: how do you manage passwords or make them unforgettable? Everything seems to require a login, but I keep forgetting them. I accidentally deleted my local file filled with passwords, so now I have my devices but no access to about 90% of the services... please help (╥﹏╥)

make the password a phrase that means something for you, and write the initial letters of all words as the password, like let's say "I like my best friend Peter" would be "IlmbfP". I think that helps a lot

pretty much just use a password manager. i use keepassXC personally because i don't really need anything more than that. if you want something more modern, then bitwarden is probably the best option - i see it being recommended a lot.

do also note that rotating passwords does more harm than good - set up a long password and change it only if it's compromised in any way (i.e. lost usb drive with your passwords, or your data was found in a data breach)

and also don't use the same password for everything (which is why a password manager is p much a necessity nowadays) - that way if your data IS in a data breach, only one account is compromised instead of like a bajillion

seconded password manger. every browser has one built-in if you're lazy like me and provide cross-device sync

My passwords are acronyms basically. One of them is all the first names of people I've dated, another one is everyone in my immediate family. then I add numbers and symbols. every time I have to change it, I just add more symbols or numbers. I don't think that's secure but my passwords are getting longer and I don't have to think of a brand new one every time. (sometimes it's like @ replaces A or 3 replaces E)

I also use a password manager for more secure passwords, which are tied to bank or identity accounts. and never share those passwords, like brachy noted it's more secure if one is compromised - then you don't have to worry about all your identity things, just one.

i actually use this: https://daliwali.neocities.org/brainpass/ <-- the advantage is that there's no way to get locked out, it works even if i lose my devices.

As was said above, Bitwarden is the way to go. Very secure and completely free.
