my hot take is that anyone should be allowed to have a website and still have contradictory opinions and criticisms to the oldweb movement. i think a big aspect of the abscence of social media is the absence of invasive algorithms and empowers your ability to consent to what you consume, and what you choose to consume becomes an issue of personal responsibility. your website should be whatever you want it to be

the internet has the potential to be a platform for everyone and hasn't been in a long time. i see oldweb as a conceptual philosophy than a pratical movement, which can only evolve naturally overtime as people make more expressive and sometimes contrarian websites. that digital anarchism is what made the internet an enigma to coorporations in the first place, less so the platforms

i don't think everyone can nor should have the same beliefs on the internet. i don't think coorporate platforms are going away either. i think too many manifestos are centered around being the opposition rather than nurturing something enigmatic
