Modern gaming is mostly dead. Take the retropill. Last Switch game I bought was WiZmans World, port of a 2010 DS JRPG. Emulation is free and easy.

Always had, but I like making myself feel pain every once in a while and checking in on the state of gaming. It's like watching a train wreck.

I've been playing King's Fields on PS1 and it's fantastic. I'm going to talk about it in my dailyblog today.

My Summer of No Games Post/E3 Posts are traditional for this time of year. I enjoy blogging about it despite my anger with the industry as a whole.

Oh yeah I still "follow" things, kind of. Every Thursday I check GameFAQs, the eShop, and VNDB. Usually I end up wishlisting whatever just came out on Arcade Archives kek.

I think it helps to keep myself informed with the current industry in the moment I'd ever run into another gamer in the wild. The last time I had a conversation with another gamer IRL was with the Gamestop employee years ago. My cousin doesn't count because we both think the same and we're both jaded.

King's Field is cool dude. I've played both "part ones" -- the Japanese one and the American which as you said is actually #2. Tough bastards, never finished them, good luck!!

With these two new PS3 games, I've updated my vidya list. Wasn't expecting to expand it anytime soon.

I've had good luck buying cartridge-based retro vidya at GameStop. The disc stuff (PS2, 360, whatever) is always in ass shape and overpriced.

I did not see any cartridge stuff other than some DS games. My area is barren so it's not surprising.

Big fan of Jimmy Rolfe. He's managed to go this long without becoming a total weirdo, which is commendable. I liked that video too, as I also still "go to the movies." Can't say I mind the prebooked seating though; it often beats searching for multiple seats together in the dark. My fave AVGN eps are prob Zelda II, Castlevania, and Dracula. Peak levels of comfy.

Say what you want about the AVGN movie or slob era but he's never crashed out despite being on the platform for decades. That's commendable.

If cats could have foresight, I'd go stray to protect my balls. There's only so much I'm willing to sacrifice for a comfortable life.
