But in English "Hellenism" means the specific period of the world (Not only Greece, but also Egypt, Persia, India, &c.) that starts with the Alexander the great and ends with the Islamisation of those countries. Classical Athens &c. were not "Hellenistic". They were just Greek. In contrast, Romans were "Hellenistic" even though they were Latin.
