Because Mercari ships items from Japan and they are forwarded overseas through intermediaries, aren't the prices higher? Wouldn't it be cheaper to use domestic flea‑market apps instead( ˙꒳˙ )?
@yagara yes it's much more expensive!! But it's easier to buy them directly off mercari myself and have them shipped via a proxy service, because many of the second-hand apps in my country are just taking the listings from mercari japan and reposting them for hundreds of dollars more (without even actually having the item). I also wouldn't have access to a lot of the same items
@yagara so personally for me, it's worth the little bit of extra cost to shop on mercari japan for items that I want in my collection. ex; ebay would try to charge me $200 for a black jack figure that I could get for $20 on mercari japan, even with the proxy fees + shipping it's still a better deal for me ^^!
I see… It’s really expensive to buy Japanese works overseas… I went to the Philippines once, and I was surprised that even used (English-language) manga were sold for fairly high prices. In Japan, you can usually buy a used manga volume for about ¥180 (1.16 USD). If you’re lucky you can get them for ¥50 (0.32 USD) or ¥80 (0.52 USD). Newest volumes are a bit more expensive, but even those are around ¥400 (2.58USD).
@yagara omg that is wild to me, here if you want to buy a english print volume of manga new it's usually around $12-$18 ( ¥1800-¥2700) per volume. Sometimes you can find manga second hand for $5-$10 but that's usually for series that are unknown...sometimes it's more expensive to buy a second-hand manga if it's one that's out of print. Some of the english print black jack manga volumes are very expensive @_@
Wow...😮 I wanted the English edition of Black Jack too, but I searched on Mercari and it was so expensive that I gave up. Maybe the price wouldn’t be much different even if you bought it in an English-speaking country... (The Japanese Black Jack volumes I have were about ¥200 (1.29 USD) each used. I went to several secondhand bookstores and I think I got them pretty cheaply.)
Omg the Noiz plushie is so cute…
The noiz is soo cute I really love how ren and him look as plushies Q_Q____ AUUHHH! SO CUTE! The bigger versions are super cute too

I was curious because I'm thinking that someday I'd like to use Mercari to sell to overseas buyers.
