I'm a little out of it tonight so apologies if the review needs some editing. Will give it another read over when I'm less tired ahaha. Small review of a small game to start out my return. Next review will be a big one I've been putting off far too long!

Great review, I have been on a weird-mouse-control-game bender recently so I looked up a video to see what you meant about the controls. Weird!

Also, you reminded me of shareware game Rats! in the 1990s which had an even more extreme female orgasm sound effect, which my parents were not amused by. What is it with these old devs?

@p7uen I've actually seen Rats! before myself, and yeah, the sound effect there REALLY goes overboard even compared to Crystal Quest and Apeiron. Something I've noticed when looking into classic Mac games is just how developers could get away with whatever they wanted in self-published shareware.

(addendum: I say it's "something I've noticed" as if I only found out recently, but in actuality I've known it for the past 23 years due to a time when I accidentally stumbled upon Barney Blaster as a kid and got horrified by the cute purple dinosaur being gorily torn to shreds on the title screen)

I'm thinking I might like to do some other pages along this line for non-game related aspects of retro Macs. E.g. maybe a page discussing the differences between all the different versions of Mac OS from System 1 to OS 9.2.2, or the different processors Apple has used in Macs over the year (Motorola, PowerPC, Intel, Apple Silicon)

There's a bunch of weird and interesting early Mac OS X games that I've been interested in covering but didn't have the specs for until now. Did you know for instance that the first Unity game ever made was a Mac exclusive? More weird vintage Mac trivia inbound when I start reviews up again.

I was surprised because it's rare for my original content to be mentioned. I'm glad you liked it, thank you!
Thank you I'm glad to have had an effect! There is a great and easy emulator called Arculator but yes, no subsitute for having a go on the old clunky hardware again.
