i guess it also depends on the images, for my artwork definitely is a must need because all my art pieces are over 1mb up to 5, but i think for smaller pngs like blinkies and what not, probably kinda redundant
@zhongvie got it, i started thinking about converting the images for my photobook page and for the sims screenshots i take since they’re almost always over 2mb
size wise yes, quality wise it looks the same. one png of my art is 2.5mb, converted to webp its 500kb

honestly the saved space on any form of image compression always tends to be worth it, especially for those who don't sponsor.
It can be, but webP isn't supported across a lot of programs which makes it a bit annoying to deal with. If you haven't already, try optipng.
It is pretty convenient if you want to save up space for many more images
