Yes, it is a bit long. The one I have doesn't have the flash mounted on the side, instead, it pops out from the top so it's not hard to carry.

That Zeiss Contina looks really familiar. I think my dad had one just like it years ago. He was a photography buff and was in the army stationed in germany around 1960 or so. Had a bunch of cool old cameras and photography gear. They definitely don't make 'em like that anymore.
No, they don't. Even my cameras from the '80s can't match the heft and solidity of these older mid-century ones.
