They're not compatible with old laptops, but you should check out the new M2 SSD drives. They are blazing fast and as big as a stick of gum. Really wild how far PCs have come in the last decade. I built my own PC a month ago. https://baloo.neocities.org/blog/2020-10-29-blog.html

I love keeping old devices running; I recently had a similar project replacing the battery in my Sony eReader. It was a satisfying task and now it's more reliably keeping charge.

Neat site man. Was looking at your retro GUI page... I of course use the Classic themes on my Windows 7 machine, and my XP ones as well. I have been using Chicago95 on Debian for some time, but I had no idea there were install scripts for it. I've been using Moonscape on Pale Moon for years now. I think Moonscape also works on the MyPal browser which is, in my opinion, the best for XP. Anyway... great site

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. I took some inspiration from your website, namely the Guestbook with HTML Comments Box. MyPal is a fork of Pale Moon actually. I was inspired to create the guide because Chicago95 had just launched their Python install script, which made installing it much easier. Just trying to give people a fuller view of Web 1.0 here on Neocities, more than just the HTML websites themselves.
