how do you all feel when you stumble upon sites that were last updated five or eight years ago? It feels unsettling to see something frozen in time online, like I've time-traveled back into the past. It saddens me too wondering if the creator moved on, abandoned the site, or perhaps even died
i look at those often anymore- it makes me feel like kinda reassured in an odd way? Im sure the neocities host wont last forever but it feels meaningful to imagine someone looking at my own site years after i move on from it
Yeah it's quite sad to see abandoned sites... Especially the ones that had a lot of potencial but never got to a state where it mattered. But at least these exist. A small rock left after a person got here and then left. A little reminder of their past presence
I'm not sure if sad is quite the right word, perhaps melancholoy? I find them peaceful, a memory of happiness. They remind me of the game Epic Mickey. A world filled with citizens and worlds fogotten, but none the less alive.

if the site is really cool but was a work in progress I get kinda sad, like get back to work mf
if it looks kinda complete though, I'm happy for it to exist :)
