i forgot how scary the internet is outside of neocities, i just had somebody tell me to sterilize my site by using a framework and to stop "reinventing the wheel"

They must be too used to all those wordpress sites which all look the same, but honestly, what are they even talking about?
most likely! i have no idea, though. why would you dislike the idea of someone trying to make something original? it seems backwards to me
OMG why would anybody say dat! Those sites are bland as heck!
Aside from problems of keeping the software up to date and hackers out, one of the reasons why I stopped using wordpress was because of the sameness of all the sites. I like the idea of the software itself, but trying to customise it is a nightmare as it's like forum software in away - you need to know all the code tags to make it work, where they are, etc. Tumblr is the same, but if you come across a nice layout,
you can do something with it - with wordpress, I could never work it out at all.
