I apologise for the radio silence the last month or so - I've had a lot going on in my life, work has been kicking my ass and I've had a loss in my family that's just led to me losing a lot of motivation in playing GBA games with an intent to review. Hopefully I'll have a new one out next week but I'm excited to get back to it :) Thank you for your patience.

I've heard that retroArch has an option that automatically connects it to Google Translate, that might help a little, at least in figuring the basics on what's going on. (Also, I've heard that Wade Hixton's Counter Punch is a good Punch-Out!! clone, I've been wanting to try that one out myself)

Oh, I hadn't actually heard about that. I'll look into it. Some games I can make do with just a bit of Google Lens and otherwise just throw myself in, but with stuff a little more complicated or story-based it might be good.

Cool review! In my experience, the best football game on the GBA is Konami's Winning Eleven. Although only released in Japan, you can find a (mostly)complete translation online. But for a non-football fan like you, I'd recommend Pro Beach Soccer. You might find that one fun.

Absolutely agree that the game LOOKS great visually if nothing else. I kinda love the dopey looking lives counter and just as dopey looking armoured horse.
