Queer history nerd here! I wanted to add some potential information to your lesbian history page. While it is true that "sapphic" was used as an umbrella term, so was "lesbian". "Lesbian" originally was a synonym for "tribade", meaning any woman who was intimate with another woman. It wasn't until around 1988 that lesbian and bisexual fem communities were considered "separate". (1/2)
(2/2) I think this information would be helpful to include, as it further emphasizes the fact that sapphics have a shared history, and that we have more in common than we don't!
THANK UUUU i appreciate this so much!!! i was planning on researching even further so i could add more info later on, so this is really helpful ♡ i really love the origin and the meaning of these words. i’ll make sure to add this in my next update ₍₍⚞(˶˃ ꒳ ˂˶)⚟⁾⁾
