One thing I have noticed in conservation, when logging or hunting occurs in tropical places such as some parts of Africa, South America, Indonesia and similar places, there is always a lot of brouhaha over it but the same things are often ignored in North America and Europe. There, species affected are 'common' 'not endangered' or a 'pest'. This is why this happens -

We had a problem in the last flat we lived in Sheffield, UK with this. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-67633892 There was a south facing window which ran all the length of the wall. You could only open some of the windows on it, and to make things worse, you couldn't control the heating as it was district heating and you couldn't control if it was on or off. It got so hot in there that you couldn't keep

fruit and veg fresh in the summer as it would go off the day after you bought it. That was a decade ago and climate change is really noticeable now. I dread to think what it is like in places where the temperatures are even worse.
