Today, I've been making some stone cladding for the fireplace using air dry clay. It's the first time I've used it and it seems to be going well, but there is more shrinkage than I thought. I'll probably need to make more stones to fill in the gaps. I know that I need to paint the fireplace so that any gaps will look like mortar. It's quite fun, really.

Been making miniature books today. When I do cross stitch and other types of sewing, I save my small off cuts to make miniatures with. Books are quite simple and you don't need to make them complicated by having writing on the pages, etc... You just need the appearance of a book. Also use card stock off cuts as well.

Yep. You just glue them around some wood or thick card cut to the size you want and trim them when it's dry. Evenweave works better, though because it's finer. I've also used felt cut-offs before. You can use any fabric you want, though most people who make them use leather instead. Some people use old magazines or catalogues so it looks like you have pages in them - you just use the spine, but they have to be thin

enough to cut through. Some companies make little hardbacks of classic books and print some of the text from them, but they can be expensive. Most of mine are just wood with a cover on them and glued into a bookcase. I've done that with the 24th scale ones because they fall out and are quite fiddly.

This weeks project has been my 24th scale Tudor dolls house which I had for my birthday a number of years ago (2017?). It was the year when Jaffa had his lump removed and the year before he died. Didn't realise how long it's been sitting around for me to put it together. I do have some miniatures for it, but not that many. It's a struggle to find them.
Why is it, when you ask for recommendations, people don't read the post properly?
I get tired of people 'borrowing', 'inventing' or deliberately 'finding/looking' for problems just for something to complain about. There is enough shit in life that brings you down without doing that.

Very little point in going to the doctors because all they say now is starve yourself until you're anorexic.
I'll do a guide to the novellas and short stories when I find the time. I think I've got them all, though there is one that's not available on its own in the UK. That no doubt means I'll have to pay more than I want for just one story. The anthology problem in Urban Fantasy is annoying. (The problem being you pay money for one story because there is one story that you want in an anthology and the rest are by authors

you don't take to. You don't know how many other short stories and novellas there are, so you miss things/buy things twice, etc. The worst is when you need a novella or short story to know what is going on in one of the main books and it's not published in it.

To make things confusing, there /is/ a proper Iron Druid anthology, but the synopsis does not give the title of the stories inside, so how are you supposed to know that it hasn't been published as an e-book so you can skip purchasing it? (the e-book, I mean...)
As I've not paid much attention to new authors for the past decade, when I find new ones that look interesting, I feel like I've been hibernating all that time.
