Interestingly enough, I know about Torrente; the first and the third game were released in Russia with full translation and voiceover. In the third game they even replaced Torrente with a famous Russian media personality of those times. I played the first game as a kid and it was quite silly but funny.

Really? That's awesome! I did see some videos of the first game in russian, but is great to hear confirmation that it actually existed. Are the films known over there as well?

Not really; I'd say the games are much more known than the game. I for example learned only from your page that the games are based on a movie, but I've known the games for a long while, and the amount of reviews on local movie review websites only prove my point. Here is the russian box and a screenshot for Torrente 3; they will probably look uncanny to you lol

Wow, they sure look uncanny to me, specially the screenshot, becuse his face looks like it is of higher resolution than the rest of the game.

The name is Roman Trakhtenberg, he died in 2009 but he was popular as a scandalous comedian, actor and a show host. Kinda like if they replaced Lara Croft with Paris Hilton for the US market for teh lulz, but on a bit deeper level..

I see, but they still called the game Toppehte (which I am guessing it is the translation of Torrente) even if there was no Torrente in sight anymore? Thats kind of funny.
Hi Daniel, sadly my order got cancelled so I need to order some more!
