yall i cant decide if i wanna start blogging on tumblr again. it was fun to have conformation that people care about what i talk about through likes and reblogs but like...i shouldnt need that. i shouldnt need validation. ughh but why should i keep raving about my interests on my website when idek if people care? and with social media i *would* know. idk. advice would be appreciated

Personally, I'm finding the social media aspects of neocities to be rather disconcerting. I'm still checking my views, profile likes, and followers, even though I'm pretty sure the only person viewing my site is me. I deleted all of my socials over a year ago to avoid this. It's not healthy.

its ok to need validation its just if you're changing the way youre expressing yourself or what you sayis when it becomes a problem in my onion. neocities is small and a lot of people don't use the social media aspect much but thats the tradeoff i think. whatever part of it is most important to you is what matters. i feel like tumblr has more people but it's also somewhat lonelier

while it's true it's not healthy to obsess over social media validation-- the reason you crave it is that it's a replacement for social contact. What you're really craving is a vibrant social life, but you're trying to find it online.

tysm for the replies. i agree with all of you. i think from now on whenever i wanna be validated i will just find someone specific to yap to. sometimes its hard to find people who care but social media isnt the way i think. thankfully i have friends who i know i can just yap to and they will be chill about it. it would be nice if they were actually interested, but i prolly never find someone as interested as myself
