That's what I generally do. I write in libreoffice or Kakoune, run it through google docs for spelling errors (not always haha) and then post the html formated page into neocities. Convoluted but making html pages directly on Neocities is awful, especially when your changes and edits aren't saved.

Rem-- solution to lag in neocities editor, literally just keep a local copy, write there, upload when done -_- duh
